Evaluationnnnnnnnn - Graphic Narrative
No, I originally had quite a large story that would probably have spread out across three to four pages which would have been far too arduous an task to have accomplished. I ended up cutting down the story down visually to one page and slashed the dialogue entirely bar a few sentences. I wanted the artwork to be more stylised and should have paid more attention to other macabre artists; possibly keeping in mind H.R.Giger’s “biomechanical” artwork when trying to create Angie’s nightmarish delusions. As far as my non-existent background’s concerned I should have spent more time analysing the layout of Weyburn Mental Institute and dissected other existing old fashioned structures and made the overall graphic narrative much more detailed and professional.

This was the original sketch of it, i decided to lose the section of Angie screaming in the corner and have her in the middle of the entire page so it seemed she was surrounded by madness in which she couldn't escape. I also changed the injection scene and tried to make it appear more violent. I prefer the bear in this sketch at the end however, it looks more dead than the other in the finished production.
What have others said about it?
•‘I thought the storyboard was very well done, the colours especially made the story look very creepy. The drawings were very good quality and captured the image well. I especially like the ending frame of the care bear’s outer skin because of how it was drawn it looked hard to get the transparency right. I think that it could be improved by making it clearer what is going on for example when the thing comes out of the care bear’s mouth. The drawing of the man is very well done and I like the use of skin tone and cold colours to make his personality look insane. The textures in the background are also very effective because they are subtle but give the image more depth. I think it is very effective.’

along with other comments you can see on the blog...
•what I liked: I like the colour palette, I think the cold colours of the inhabitants of Weyburn are effective against the warm rusted colours of the background. I also like the expressions and the section where the monster is climbing out of the Care Bear’s mouth.
•What I disliked: I dislike the layout of the entire strip; it looks like its been thrown onto the page in no particular order. I don’t like the style in which it was drawn and should have done more full body shots and focused on using perspective.
Ident
We were asked to create an ident for E4 so here's the results: A child is getting terrorised in his room by a small evil teddy bear, said teddy bear then cuts off his head off screen and a delightful spray of purple blood lands on the wall depicting the E4 logo. Child Friendly as always.
Blogger, because it's the workings of satan and all his little wizards, has deided that smooth animation is not on the menu and has decided choppy animation is much more suitable.

Story Board Unit 53 - my word that story makes no sense at all

For this unit we had to create a storyboard, i chose to do mine about a mental patient who hallucenates about spider mutants crawling out of Care Bears until she flips out and has to be "calmed down" with some good ol' morphine. Mmm mmm. Whether or not this is actually clear within the story board would be something I'd really like to be told about. So if this makes sense to you, PLEASE TELL ME.
Sketch was made on paper with a HB mechanical Pencil, scanned into Photoshop, line art made with the pen and anchor tool then coloured with the brush using the smudge, burn and doge tool. Used textured overlays along with gradient overlays too.

Slideshow of variousity
Here's a slideshow of various work i've done both inside and out of college
Joker: A summer holiday project i did last year based on Heath Ledger's Joker in the style of the comic book cover "The Killing Joke".
I honestly had nothing better to do with my time. Everyone was away on holiday.
Now isn't that just a little sad...
Eyes, nose, hair etc: Wanted to practise realism, only thing that looks vaugely like it could belong on something's face is the top eye.
Storyboard: Unit 53 work
Logo: A design for a website logo that got scrapped.
